Join us in our Bunbury store for our 'Rainbow and Clouds Ombre Bento Cake Decorating Class'

Indulge in the art of  creating an ombre cake using a mixture of buttercream and fondant. 

Basic info : 9.20 pm arrival for a 9.30 pm start on Wednesday 23rd April 2025.  Allow  2.5 -3 hours. No baking involved. Take home your work of art = 1 x cake and newfound knowledge

On arrival we will have your work station set up with all the tools you need to decorate.

Joellen will be sharing her techniques, tips and hints through the class.

Buttercream / Colours - We will colour buttercream in shades of yellow, pink and blue which will be the main coloured part of our cake.Then we will create a crumb coat and a decorative coat with buttercream which involves two main steps: sealing in the crumbs and then applying a smooth finish.

Piping techniques -  How to fill a piping bag like a pro - the mess free way. The only piping we are doing is to put the buttercream onto the cake.

Fondant - Create cartoon-style clouds. The rainbow and clouds will be pre-made as we need them to harden. 

Decorating - Putting it all together, Add in the blue sky with buttercream, use tools to add texture, place the fondant clouds and fondant topper on the cake and finish with pearl white sanding sugar.

Joellen is self taught baker and cake decorator with a wealth of knowledge and enthusiam. Her passion is in the detail and many hours are enjoyed decorating cupcakes and cakes. She is one of our regular teachers offering a variety of classes. 

You will leave this class feeling confident about your newfound knowledge that can be used on future decorating for cakes and cupcakes.

Important Info:

• Images used are our inspiration guide. Colours and patterns will vary!
• Please bring a water bottle and wear closed in shoes.
• Long hair to be tied back.
• An apron will be supplied.
• This class is suitable for ages 14 - 80 years (If your teenager is booking and you would like to stay please let me know when making the booking as we will need to accommodate extra space)
• Our venue is approved by the Bunbury City Council for classes
• Classes are held at 3/7 Hennessy Rd (our Bunbury store)
• Full Payment is required to secure your place
• If you need to cancel, we will hold a credit for a future class if cancelled earlier than 3 weeks before the class
• If cancellation is within 3 weeks all monies will be forfeited
• If we need to cancel due to lack of numbers or illness we will provide a full refund.
